Agniveer Name Mismatch in Uttarakhand: Seva Nidhi and State Jobs After Service

From reports of the Agniveer Horizontal Reservation Rules, 2025, notified by the state's Personnel and Vigilance Department, and the Cabinet decision of August 2025.

The second and fifth rows depend on papers: your residence certificate, and your date of birth.

All three can be put right in the months before exit. None needs a Gazette.

Step 1: Read your name on the exit papers and the skill certificate

The papers you receive when your four years end.

Step 2: Put your class 10 certificate, Aadhaar and PAN beside them

Your service record was made from the papers you joined with.

Step 3: Check your date of birth on all of them

State recruitment counts age relaxation from it.

Step 4: Correct Aadhaar or PAN where they are the odd ones

At their own offices.

Step 5: Bring the Seva Nidhi bank account to the same name

The package is paid into it.

Step 6: Get or correct your Uttarakhand residence certificate

The state's quota is for permanent residents.

Step 7: Apply for state posts in the name on your exit papers

With linking papers for any other form.

Step 8: Keep every paper from service together

Exit order, skill certificate, Seva Nidhi statement.

• The state relaxes the maximum age by the period served as an Agniveer.
• So your date of birth decides if you fall within the limit.
• Your class 10 certificate is usually the proof.
• Aadhaar and your service record should carry the same date.
• Aadhaar limits date of birth changes. One careful correction.
• A date that differs between papers can delay your application.

• It should carry your name and father's name as your other papers do.
• An old certificate from school days may carry a short form.
• Get a fresh one, or have it corrected, before applying.

Step 1: Confirm that your name has in fact changed

A short form on one paper is not a change of name.

Step 2: Remember the service record

Corrected by the record office, not a Gazette.

Step 3: Fix the exact new name

The spelling that will go on Aadhaar, PAN and every application.

Step 4: Make the affidavit and publish the newspaper notice

Sign before a notary. Publish in a daily local leading newspaper, and keep the original newspaper.

Step 5: Type the form and sign the undertaking

Two typed copies of the specimen, signed in your old name with two witnesses, and the undertaking.

Step 6: Prepare the CD, photographs and certificate

The same text on a CD in MS Word, two self-attested photographs with identity proof, and a certificate that both copies match.

Step 7: Pay the charge on BharatKosh

Commonly Rs 1,100 for an adult. It is not refunded.

Step 8: Send the file yourself, then update in order

Send it to the Controller of Publications, Department of Publication, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054. Then Aadhaar, PAN and the bank.

A typical case we handle: a young man from Tehri joined as an Agniveer at 18 on his school papers, which read "Deepak Singh". His Aadhaar read "Deepak Singh Rana", and his residence certificate, made years earlier, just "Deepak". Planning to apply for police constable under the state quota after exit, he asked us whether a Gazette was needed. It was not. He brought Aadhaar into line with his class 10 certificate and got a fresh residence certificate in the same name. This is an illustrative example of the type of case we handle, not a named client review.

When you do not need us

For a spelling, a date of birth, a bank account or a residence certificate. The record office, the Aadhaar centre, the branch and the tehsil settle those. We are useful only where a person has changed a name by choice and a Gazette notification is asked for.

About Rs 11.71 lakh, tax-free. Agniveers put 30 per cent of pay into a corpus fund, the Government matches it, and the corpus of about Rs 10.04 lakh grows with interest. It is paid into your bank account, so the name must match.

What reservation do ex-Agniveers get in the CAPFs?

In December 2025 the Home Ministry raised the reservation for ex-Agniveers in Group C posts of the Central Armed Police Forces from 10 to 50 per cent, with half of BSF constable vacancies set aside for them.

What age relaxation do ex-Agniveers get in the CAPFs?

Five years for the first batch and three years for later batches, as reported. Your date of birth on every paper decides the limit.

Do ex-Agniveers take physical tests for the CAPFs?

They are exempted from the Physical Standard Test and the Physical Efficiency Test, but sit the written examination like other candidates.

When does the first Agniveer batch complete its service?

The first batch, enrolled from late 2022, completes its four years around late 2026, so the first ex-Agniveers become available for recruitment from then.

What insurance does an Agniveer have?

A non-contributory life cover of Rs 48 lakh during service. The nominee named for it should be written as on their own Aadhaar.
